Donald Glover, Beyonce Knowles-Carter and James Earl Jones reprising his role as Mufasa, but it also seems to match the trailer for the iconic 1994 film almost shot-for-shot.
The teaser ends with Mufasa simply saying “Remember.” So we decided to do just that and watch the 1994 original film and match it up. Watch the video above to see how well the new film follows the original while also looking absolutely amazing.
Most interesting is the line — taken out of context from the original 1994 film — in which Mufasa tells a growing, confused Simba to “Remember who you are.” The omission of words is clearly meant as a wink to life-long fans who will instantly recognize its original context, while also spurring us to remember the classic animated Disney movie and how it made it feel
